The name Narratus means “to tell as in a story,” and the Narratus story is about technology and people. A business intelligence systems developer, the consultants of Narratus are highly skilled in the areas of budgeting, planning, sales and financial reporting, forecasting, and risk management system development. However, our ranks include Broadway veterans, comedians, opera singers, race car enthusiasts, and soccer referees who are not only passionate about solving people’s business problems, but also dedicated to improving the community where we all work and live...and play.
Narratus, led by CEO, Doug Simao, has a long history of community service. Over the last twelve years, the company has won 10 consecutive Business in the Arts Awards for their work with Fullerton Civic Light Opera, the Pacific Symphony, the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Fullerton High School Academy of the Arts, Yorba Linda Middle School Instrumental Music Program, Orange County High School of the Arts, the Orange County Business Committee for the Arts, and Team Cabaret, a program Simao created with veteran performer, Kate Peters.
Always interested in helping non-profits to benefit from the kinds of information systems that other US corporations employ to keep their businesses growing, Narratus is currently developing a suite of tools and solutions that small to large non-profit organizations can employ to enhance both front end and back office operations for “capacity building.”
The company’s involvement in the community has also had one very unexpected, yet welcome effect. It has been a differentiator that has attracted some great talent to the Narratus team. According to Simao, “The quest for good technology resources is highly competitive. However, the value we place on community service has helped to fill our staff positions with former Broadway actors, recording artists, and even a former Russian comedian who performed in a show similar to Saturday Night Live before coming to the US. In the US, he developed some award-winning software, so he could have worked almost anywhere. He chose Narratus because our support of the arts made this a place he wanted to work – and play.”
